Description

Section K of the Pacific Crest Trail runs 64.3 miles from Echo Lake Resort to I-80. The Desolation Wilderness (which this section of the trail runs through) is one of the most popular roadless areas in California. After Desolation Wilderness is Granite Chief Wilderness, with gorgeous views from the top of Granite Chief and Tinker Knob. <br />

Along the way the trail passes Lower Echo Lake; Echo Lake, CA; Triangle Lake; Lake Margery; Lake Aloha; Heather Lake; Dicks Pass; Dicks Lake; Middle Velma Lake; Lake Genevieve; Richardson Lake; Tahoe City, CA; Squaw Creek; Granite Chief Trail 15E23 to Squaw Valley; Roller Pass; Old Highway 40 near Donner Pass; and Soda Springs, CA.
